The Big Revival Tour Featuring Jake Owen & Chase Rice Stops in Downtown Houston on Friday, May 22, 2015

Country Comes to Downtown This Spring! Kenny Chesney returns to Houston with The Big Revival Tour presented by Corona Light on Friday, May 22, 2015, at BBVA Compass Stadium, an AEG Facilities venue.  Tickets start at $37.50 and will be available beginning Friday, December 12 at 10 a.m.

For the 2015 tour, Chesney intends to showcase writer/artists to the No Shoes Nation with label mate Jake Owen, who is known for his laid-back style of country including hit songs such as “The One That Got Away,” “Beachin’” and “Barefoot Blue Jean Night;” and Platinum-selling country music maverick Chase Rice, a former University of North Carolina linebacker who garnered notoriety as co-writer for Florida Georgia Line’s landmark hit “Cruise” before debuting on the Billboard Country Album chart at #1 with his album Ignite the Night.    For Chesney, it’s not about big names playing alongside him this summer, it’s about fresh faces that people need to know and giving fans a show that rocks as well as turns people on to new music.

The Artists

Kenny Chesney hit bona fide stardom when his third album Me and You went gold in 1996. He has since garnered legions of country music fans, with every album since then going Platinum. While attending East Tennessee State, Chesney performed his music at local bars and eventually recorded an album to sell at his shows. His work ethic has led to 14 albums Certified Gold or higher, more than 30 Top Ten singles on the Billboard Country Songs charts and over 30 million albums sold worldwide. Chesney has received numerous accolades from the Academy of Country Music, Country Music Association, American Music Awards, Country Music Television and more. In September 2014, Chesney released The Big Revival album after the successful release of two singles: “American Kids” and “’Til It’s Gone.”  The 2015 Big Revival Tour kicks off on his 47th birthday on March 26, 2015, in Nashville.

Jake Owen became a star so quickly that he didn’t have time to memorize any Country Music Rule Book—which made it that much easier to toss it out the window.  Guided by sheer musical instinct, a drive for self-improvement and a willingness to experiment, the singer-songwriter crafted Barefoot Blue Jean Night as one of the most innovative and refreshing country collections of the year.  His career path took him from performing in Florida beach-side bars to Nashville where he landed a Music Row song-publishing contract. Less than a year later, he signed with RCA Records and started climbing the charts with his first two singles, “Yee Haw” and “Startin’ with Me.” His revival of “Life in a Northern Town” with Sugarland and Little Big Town in 2008 earned him Grammy and CMA Award nominations. Owen went on to earn 2009’s Top New Male Vocalist by the Academy of Country Music. As his star continues to ascend, Owen aims to push himself in order to get better at his craft, to take risks and try different things in order to grow as an artist.

Chase Rice pulls no punches when he takes the stage to perform.  Truthful, unfiltered and unafraid to take risks, Rice is a rare artist who means what he says and backs it up with equal measure.  Rice had his first experience with stardom after being cast on Survivor: Nicaragua where he was named runner-up and debuted his first single, “Buzz Back.” Although he received national media attention, the reality show stardom did not propel his music career.  In 2011, Rice’s EP debuted featuring the single “Buzz Back.”  He co-wrote the Hot 100-busring Florida Georiga Line single “Cruise” and is rearing back for more with his new full-length, major-label LP Ignite the Night.

Tickets for Kenny Chesney’s Big Revival Tour start at $37.50 and will be available starting Friday, December 12th at 10 a.m. online at www.bbvacompassstadium.com, www.axs.com or by calling 888-929-7849.  Tickets will also be available at the Ticket Office, open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
